Veterans & Military Support Program Tools

The Veterans & Military Support Program, plays a vital role in our organization. In many cases, our VFW programs are the first introduction a service member or veteran has with the organization. This program is both important, and multi-faceted.

To help, we've compiled the forms and reports you use most frequently in one place.

2026 VFW Day of Service

Day of Service events should be scheduled during the month of May 2026 and Dashboard credit for “Day of Service Participation” will not be applied until after May 2026. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact Mark Herron at mherron@vfw.org.

 

127th National Convention – Reno, Nevada

As we continue to plan for the 2026 National Convention, there is a new VMS Keychain for the 2026-27 Program year! ADJs/QMs will be able to pre-order their keychains and will be able to pick them up at convention again this year. Notifications and order forms have been emailed out. If your Department has an outstanding balance from last year, you will need to remedy that before you can pre-order for this year.

VFW Military Appreciation Program (MAP) Grant Funds

Be advised that the VFW MAP Grant is now closed for the remainder of the 2025-2026 program year. Funds have been depleted. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact us at M.A.P@vfw.org or 816.756.3390 ext. 6287.

  

VMS Donations for All-American

Donating to the VMS Program can only be done via the Dashboard by going to the link “VMS Donation” at the upper right-hand corner of the screen. For the 2025-2026 Program year, your $125 or more donation to VMS Programs meets the eligibility criteria for All-American in this category. Donations must be received by June 30, 2026, to make All-American.

When you make your $125.00 donation, all that needs to be entered into the box is 125. No $ and no .00 is required in the donation amount box.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THE RED/WHITE DONATE LINK IN THE UPPER RIGHTHAND CORNER OF THE VETERANS & MILITARY SUPPORT PROGRAM TOOLS. THIS LINK GOES TO THE GENERAL DONATION PAGE AND WILL NOT BE CREDITED AS A VMS DONATION.

Department Chair Reports:

No Departments reported. The attendance for service members and family members was 0.

 

Military Appreciation Program (MAP) and Adopt-a-Unit (AAU):

12 events were reported. The attendance for service members and family members was 3,357.

MAP Grant funds are depleted for the remainder of the 2025-2026 program year.

 

VFW Financial Assistance for Service Members:

3 grants were provided this month in the amount of $4,902.00.

 

VFW’s “Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship”: 

The 2026 Fall semester closed April 30, 2026. The Spring 2027 semester opens Aug. 01 through Nov. 15, 2026. The application is only available online at vfw.org/Scholarship.

 

A total of 3,360 veterans, military and family members were supported through our VMS Programs during April 2026.
