VFW Applauds President’s Executive Order

'Proper leadership, management and accountability are only watchwords without the authority to enact change'

WASHINGTON — President Trump today signed a new executive order that will help the Department of Veterans Affairs better hold its employees accountable for their actions or inactions.

“Proper leadership, management and accountability are only watchwords without the authority to enact change,” said Brian Duffy, the national commander of the 1.7 million-member Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and its Auxiliary.

“Today’s action, bolstered hopefully soon by the passage of the VA Accountability First Act, will help ensure that only the very best employees are hired and retained by a department that was created for one purpose, and that’s to care for our nation’s wounded, ill and injured veterans.”
