Veteran Cherishes Compassionate Support

Army veteran Danny Heinze encourages others who are facing hardship to get help rather than suffer alone

Danny Heinze, 59, of Newton, Kansas, served for nearly four and a half years in the Army as part of the 82nd Airborne and 101st Airborne divisions. During that time, Heinze suffered a gunshot wound that made a lasting impact.

“It was mentally and physically scarring, causing a major shift in my life,” he said.

Veteran Health CareHeinze feels fortunate to have connected with VFW Accredited Service Officer Todd Schroeder through the VFW’s National Veterans Service (NVS) program. With Schroeder’s assistance, Heinze’s disability rating was increased.

“Todd is professional, knowledgeable and compassionate,” Heinze said. “My experience was remarkable thanks to his attention to detail and efficiency. Todd’s a wonderful service officer and needs to be recognized for all he does to help veterans.”

Heinze encourages others who are facing hardship to get help rather than suffer alone.

“Seek assistance,” he said. “The VFW is there for veterans.”
