VFW’s Membership Department launched a friendly competition in early November, which is proving to be popular.
VFW’s “8 Weeks of Christmas” contest is going strong.
Each week through Dec. 31, VFW will have two mystery bags and two other items from the VFW store up for grabs. To check out the prizes and receive keywords for this contest you must follow the VFW Membership Facebook page or Instagram account.
The 10 Posts with the most member entries will be entered into a drawing to win $1,000 towards a recruiting event of their choosing, along with a VFW table cover, swag items and recruiting materials for the event.
“We have seen a huge response to this,” VFW Membership Eligibility Coordinator Ed Stefanak said. “This is all about member engagement and community involvement.”
When a member registers for the contest, they will be prompted to answer a few questions such as how often they attend Post meetings and how often do they read VFW Magazine. The responses will help VFW to better engage with its members.
“Unfortunately, the mixer only covers North America,” Stefanak said. “So, Europe, Pacific Areas and the Unaffiliated will not be able to participate. We are working diligently to be able to include these areas in future contests.”
Stefanak said to keep checking the VFW Membership’s social media accounts for the weekly key words. The drawing for the Post winner will occur during the first week of January.
