KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) is pleased to announce it is teaming up with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). The Kansas City Barbeque Society and the VFW are both membership organizations based in Kansas City with national and international reach; with common values and ideals on celebrating America’s patriotism, service members, veterans and barbeque as America’s cuisine.

Approximately 20% of KCBS members are either veterans or active-duty service members. KCBS is the leading sanctioning body of Barbeque Food Sport across the world. We sanction barbeque competitions and train Certified Barbeque Judges all across the U.S. and in 37 countries around the world. We are proud to partner with Veterans of Foreign Wars to provide additional membership benefits for both of our membership bases.”

“We are delighted to work alongside the Kansas City Barbeque Society as an additional benefit to our VFW members,” said VFW National Commander Fritz Mihelcic. “We believe that there is mutual benefit to VFW Posts hosting KCBS-sanctioned barbeque competitions and Certified Barbeque Judge classes. These events will provide our Posts the opportunity to drive awareness and community engagement, serve as recruiting events and also provide fundraising opportunities.”

The Kansas City Barbeque Society already works with a variety of VFW Posts across the country to host sanctioned barbeque contests; including Sparks, Nevada, and Tomball, Texas.
