VFW Kicks Off Inaugural Day of Service

May 7 marks the start of nationwide veteran-led projects

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Starting this Saturday, communities across America and around the world will feel the support of our nation’s veterans like never before as the VFW kicks off its inaugural Day of Service. 

VFW Day of Service May 2022Hundreds of VFW Posts will commence the initiative on May 7 by hosting veteran-led events aimed to engage veterans, service members and community advocates while making a meaningful difference in their communities. Events will continue through Memorial Day. 

The VFW Day of Service is an outgrowth of the organization’s #StillServing campaign launched in 2020 to recognize the ongoing dedication of veterans and service members who continue to serve their communities. VFW members log more than 3 million community service hours annually.

To date, 840 events across 44 U.S. states and as far away as the Philippines are expected. Watch for #VFWDayofService on social media and get involved at vfw.org/DayofService.
