VFW, VA to Host #ExploreVA Vet Center Video Tour and Facebook Chat

Chat directly with a subject matter expert

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. is once again teaming up with the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide veterans, service members and their families an opportunity to learn about VA Vet Centers. Join us on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, at 7 p.m. EDT for the #ExploreVA Vet Center Video Tour and Facebook Chat to learn about the counseling and community referral services offered through a network of more than 300 Vet Centers across the country. There will be a live video tour of the Annapolis, Md., Vet Center, followed by a question and answer session where VA experts will be on hand to answer questions and help locate a Vet Center near you. The event is open to the public and will take place on VFW’s Facebook page.

VA Vet Centers provide free community-based counseling, outreach and referral services to eligible veterans who served in any combat zone, area of hostility, experienced a military sexual trauma, or served as part of a drone crew. Services are also available to family members and can include counseling for transitioning and readjustment, and issues related to marriage, family and bereavement. Referrals to VA mental health care, employment, education, and other services and benefits are also provided.

This event is part of the #ExploreVA: From Service to Success online event series showcasing how veterans, service members and their families can use VA benefits to earn degrees, start careers, buy homes, stay healthy, and so much more in life after the military. Get more information and sign up to receive email reminders about the upcoming event today.
