VFW Statement on Dallas Ambush

'All who wear the badge ... are our brothers and sisters in arms'

WASHINGTON — The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States extends its deepest condolences and strongest support to the law enforcement community after alleged snipers ambushed and killed five Dallas police officers and reportedly wounded seven others yesterday.

“All who wear the badge, who run toward danger to protect others, are our brothers and sisters in arms,” said VFW National Commander John A. Biedrzycki Jr. “We share this grief with our fellow comrades and their families, just as we demand from our local and national governments an end to this lawlessness that has no place in a civil society.”
