VFW Announces New Website Coming Soon

KANSAS CITY, Mo.The VFW is proud to announce the launch of its new website coming this August.

After careful review and analysis of the user feedback submitted in recent years, the project began with three main objectives:
• to create a unique and interactive site that will better serve to educate members and nonmembers alike on VFW’s history, mission and importance.
• to redesign the look, navigation and layout of the existing website to make it more engaging and user-friendly for members, friends and supporters.
• to condense numerous existing VFW websites into one while enhancing the unique functions offered by each.

Just a few of the new elements will include:

• An all new “members only” area
• A new “Member Profile” section
• A live VFW Twitter feed
• A showcased video player
• Topic-specific RSS feeds
• An interactive “Why Join” page

Members will soon have the opportunity to login to a new VFW Online Membership System (OMS) directly from the site. OMS will replace the current eMembership application and is stacked with role-specific information and tools to quickly and efficiently manage membership information for VFW members and officers.

Accessing department resources, chairman guides, proposed bylaws amendments, quartermaster tools, publications ads or simply paying monthly membership dues will be accessed by logging in to www.vfw.org.

“We’re very excited about the upcoming launch of the new site. This will give us the ability to really streamline news and information to our members and also introduce an entirely new generation to today’s VFW,” says Allen “Gunner” Kent, VFW Adjutant General.
