KANSAS CITY, Mo. —There is an urban legend circulating on the Internet and on blogs that is telling veterans they must enroll, or re-enroll, for VA benefits by Jan. 17. If the veteran does not enroll by then, then veterans will lose all benefits.

This rumor has been circulating for years with different locations and dates. The current rumor is from a woman in Salt Lake City.
