I went to school on an Air Force ROTC scholarship to be a nurse and ended up becoming a pilot. What an adventure! I would say having to spend the night in Iraq on an Army base when our C-130 broke down and having to coordinate lodging for my crew, not to mention getting our plane fixed, was one of my most stressful and proud moments. I got out of the Air Force in 2007 and decided I wanted to work with veterans suffering from the psychological wounds of war. So I am back in school using my GI Bill, thanks to the VFW in part, and am going to be a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, hopefully hired by the VA when I graduate!
