VFW DISPATCH – May 2014

h_border

We are absolutely outraged over the recent allegations regarding several VA facilities, namely in Phoenix. We know you are as well. We will not stand idly by if the VA is failing our veterans. But we need to know the facts.

We need to hear veterans’ real-life stories, not hearsay, about the problems they are experiencing at VA facilities. Only then can we hold VA officials properly accountable for their actions. That’s why we’ve reintroduced a VFW toll-free number for VA-enrolled veterans to call to share their personal accounts of the care they are receiving.

The number is 1-800-VFW-1899. Share it with your friends and family and encourage them to call as well.

We’re also forming an ad hoc committee to further our efforts to hear first-hand the type of treatment veterans are receiving. The committee will also conduct town halls in select locations around the country where we invite all veterans to join a conversation and share their VA experiences. The committee will provide the feedback they receive to our leadership to determine appropriate action. We’ll announce dates and locations of the town halls very soon.

Respectfully,
