We Need Your Support
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation is expecting a $700,000 shortfall in funding for the VFW’s Unmet Needs program between now and August 31. Our Unmet Needs program provides grants of up to $1,500 to military and veteran families that are struggling financially due to no fault of their own. Donations to the Unmet Needs program helps keep families from becoming homeless, helps keep them fed and their utilities on, and other relief/emergency services as needed. With a goal of raising enough money to support the nearly 500 families that will need our help over the next few months, we hope you’ll join our “Surge to Support” campaign to ensure active-duty service members, veterans receive the help the deserve.
Family Sponsorship Levels
In appreciation of your "Surge to Support" campaign donation, your organization will receive recognition during the VFW's #StillServing Celebration, July 20-24, 2020:
- Company logo placement on a special “Surge to Support” campaign page.
- Recognition of support from VFW Leadership.
- A plaque recognizing your support in this unique time of need.
- Your company logo will be featured in an issue of VFW magazine recognizing your support of the campaign.
More About the Unmet Needs Program
Established in 2004, the VFW's Unmet Needs program is there to help America's military families who have run into unexpected financial difficulties as a result of deployment or other military-related activity or injury. The program provides financial assistance of up to $1,500 to assist with basic life needs in the form of a grant (this is not a loan - so no repayment is required). To further ease the burden, we pay the creditor directly. More importantly, the VFW provides this assistance to all qualified service members and veterans - no VFW membership is required.
Your donation will help…
- Prevent military and veteran families from becoming homeless.
- Prevent military and veteran families from going hungry.
- Prevent military and veteran families from having their utilities disconnected.
- Provide vital financial relief and assistance for medical bills, automotive and home repairs, and other needs that may be unforeseen that will help a military or veteran family get back on their feet.
