“Devoted Health Care in Foley (Alabama) wanted to honor veterans under their care, so they reached out to us for help,” VFW Post 5658 Commander Alvino Sosa said. “We coordinated with them and made it happen.”

Sosa and Post 5658 members joined several other veteran organizations at Battleship Alabama Park, where they presented more than 50 veterans with military service coins to reflect their appreciation for their time in uniform.

The collaboration marked the first between Post 5658 and Devoted Health Care, a healthcare service that provides nurses and other resources to hospice care patients.

“It was our first time working with them,” Sosa said, “but Devoted Health has already requested our Post participate in future events.”
