VFW Statement on Turkish Airport Bombing

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. extends its heartfelt condolences to all the families of the dead and wounded from yesterday’s horrific terrorist assault at Istanbul's Ataturk International Airport that has so far left 41 people dead and 239 wounded. 

No group has yet claimed responsibility, but “there is no doubt that it was a well-coordinated attack by three suicide bombers who were hell-bent on killing as many innocent civilians as possible,” said VFW National Commander John A. Biedrzycki Jr. 

“Whether caused by radical Muslim extremists or by copycat groups, the U.S. and the international community must eradicate this cancer on the world. There are no other options.”
