Remembering Pearl Harbor

The VFW reflects on a day which revived America’s national pride and spirit

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – This Dec. 7, National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States encourages all Americans to pause and reflect on the sneak attack that altered the course of history and tested our nation’s resolve like never before.

The Japanese attack 75 years ago resulted in more than 3,500 dead or wounded, and while it was a day of immense tragedy, it would also become a day which showcased America’s unbreakable spirit. The attack has come to stand as a testament to future generations that while our homeland may be attacked, our enemies will never defeat our republic or our way of life.

On this National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, the VFW asks everyone to take a moment to remember and be inspired by all who served and sacrificed.
