VFW Announces Veterans Day LED Display Project

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) is proud to partner with ScreenSource-USA to recognize Veterans Days with an LED display honoring American service members. The display will be located at 23rd Street and Constitution Avenue in Washington, D.C., and will begin Nov. 9 at midnight and run continuously through Nov. 13. It will feature rotating photos of service members killed in action from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.

A total of 15,000 graphics will be featured throughout the course of the 96-hour display. ScreenSource-USA worked with the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Foundation and the Department of Defense to compile the photos.

“The VFW is proud to be involved with a vigil like this in our nation’s capital for Veterans Day. It offers us the perfect time to honor and celebrate all veterans who have served our nation, as well as ensure that those who made the ultimate sacrifice are always remembered for their courage,” says VFW Commander-in-Chief John Hamilton.

This is the third LED display the VFW has sponsored in Washington, D.C., this year. Previous displays were held on Memorial Day and Independence Day.

ScreenSource-USA provides video production and display including LED screens, video projection and high-definition cameras and switching for events in Washington, D.C., and across the United States.
