Don’t Miss the VFW Live from New Orleans

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Make sure to have your electronic devices ready as the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States begins streaming live from its 118th VFW National Convention in New Orleans starting July 23.

More than 10,000 VFW and VFW Auxiliary members are expected to attend the weeklong convention at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in downtown New Orleans, July 22-26. Livestreaming begins with the annual memorial service on July 23 at 8:30 a.m. (CDT), and continues for the duration of the convention beginning at 7:30 a.m., July 24, and culminating with the election of a new national commander on July 26.  

Among this year’s presentations include the VFW Americanism Award to the Delta Airlines Honor Guard, the VFW News Media Award to the Billings Gazette in Montana, the VFW Hall of Fame Award to Bobby Henline, VFW Armed Forces Award to retired Army Gen. Richard Cody, and the VFW Aeronautic and Aerospace Award to NASA astronaut and Navy Capt. Chris Cassidy, among others. The convention will also host appearances by many notable guests, including Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Dr. David Shulkin and Medal of Honor recipient and retired Marine Corps Maj. Gen. James Livingston.
