KUWAIT — VFW Commander-in-Chief George Lisicki recently completed a Department of Defense-sponsored trip to Iraq to gain a better understanding of Multi-National Forces-Iraq missions and operations.
During the visit, Lisicki met with military service members at Taji National Depot, Camp Victory and the International Zone in Iraq and at Ali al Salem Air Base and Camp Arafjan in Kuwait.
In an interview with VFW talk-radio The National Defense, Lisicki said the Iraqi leaders provided detailed reports outlining the Iraqis' progress in taking over their county. More important, Lisicki added, was that the American service members are really proud of what they have accomplished, and how far the Iraqis have come.
