Bravo Company 'Bushmasters' Thankful for Operation Uplink Phone Cards

Merry Christmas from Kirkuk, Iraq!

We hope you are having a great holiday season! On behalf of Bravo Company, 2-22 Infantry “Triple Duece” (from the 10th Mountain Division out of Fort Drum, NY), I would like to thank you so much for sending over $1,000.00 worth of Operation Uplink phone cards to 150 soldiers and for your dedicated support and let you know how much we appreciate it.

As I’m sure you’ve heard deployments are very difficult for the families of soldiers, especially those who are on their second, third, or even fourth deployment here to Iraq or Afghanistan.

There is nothing more useful and more appreciated than the ability to communicate with our families, and your support in helping us do that means so much. We truly thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

The Bravo Company “Bushmasters” are currently conducting counter-insurgency operations across multiple outlying villages in over 740 square kilometers near Kirkuk, Iraq. We have had tremendous success thus far in securing the area and gaining the support and respect of the local population.

We work side by side with the Iraqi Police and Iraqi Army everyday to provide security for the people and the area. We also are working with the local schools to focus on the future of Iraq (the kids), the city councils and local government to provide essential services to the people. This has been a slow process, and one that will take time, but the Bravo Company Soldiers are a dedicated group who are committed to finishing this operation.

Again, we cannot thank you enough or ever repay you for your support.

Sincerely,
Capt. Matthew Lee
