Free VFW MeMber Honor Roll^ä

VFW Launches Veteran’s Life-Story Publishing

(Kansas City, MO, Sept. 25, 2002)–The Veterans of Foreign Wars and Making everlasting Memories^® (MeM^®) have teamed up to provide VFW members and families an interactive tool to archive and celebrate a life story. Told through a collection of writings, images and documents, individuals are able to share their thoughts and memories with friends and family worldwide through the VFW MeMber Honor Roll^ä and VFW Lifelong MeMories^â at www.vfw.org.

The VFW MeMber Honor Roll^ä, a complimentary product, recognizes veterans for their service to their country. The program is open to any VFW member who wishes to participate. The honor roll includes the member’s name, photograph or service logo, date of birth, VFW post number and location, branch of military, military campaigns and honors earned.

“We are proud to recognize our members through the complimentary VFW MeMber Honor Roll, and we are very excited about the VFW Lifelong MeMories product,” said Bob Crow, deputy assistant quartermaster general. “Our veterans have an important story to share and we want to provide them a way to publish their story to be shared with friends, family and fellow veterans now, as well as for generations to come.”

VFW Lifelong MeMories^â is a more comprehensive product that allows VFW members and their families to document their life story, VFW members and family members provide text and images, such as photographs, historical documents, maps, ribbons, letters, awards and other creative works that exemplify the written life story. Friends, family and fellow veterans also may contribute by sending a tribute to the member through the VFW website.
