KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) is encouraging its more than 1.5 million VFW and Auxiliary members to show their support and appreciation for Sport Clips Haircuts and all their team members as part of its #SportClipsSalute appreciation event, Jan. 25-29, 2021.
VFW members, and their families and friends are encouraged to safely visit their local Sport Clips store, purchase a haircut service or product and say “thank you” to the franchise owners, managers and Sport Clips team members for their continued support of the veteran community.
The VFW is also encouraging VFW and VFW Auxiliary members to post about their visit to social media using #SportClipsSalute. As an added incentive, members who participate will be entered into a drawing to win a $1,000 Community Support Grant from the VFW Foundation for their Post. “Transitioning home from military service is difficult, but over the past year our veterans have been faced with unfathomable obstacles while trying to restart their lives amidst a global pandemic,” said VFW National Commander Hal Roesch II. “The sincere and unwavering generosity from Sport Clips, their team members, their loyal patrons and their product partners has helped to ensure our heroes have a place to turn when the next chapter in their life starts.”
After teaming up together for more than a decade to provide phone calls home for America’s service members and their families, the VFW and Sport Clips established the VFW’s “Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship” program in 2014 to provide service members and veterans with up to $5,000 in post-secondary scholarships.
To date, Sport Clips team members, clients and product partners have raised $8 million for the VFW and have funded more than 1,750 Help A Hero Scholarships. Log on to VFW’s Facebook Page January 25, at 1 p.m. CST for this year’s live check presentation from Sport Clips.
