Reno the biggest little city in the world sign

121st VFW National Convention

Thousands of VFW and Auxiliary delegates were expected to gather to represent the organization’s total membership of more than 1.5 million at the weeklong event. But when the coronavirus forced us to cancel the VFW National Convention in its current, we weren't going to just sit on the sidelines.

Earlier this year, the VFW launched the #StillServing campaign to bring more awareness to the many ways veterans continue to serve beyond the military. Now, you can join us for the first-ever, virtual VFW’s #StillServing Celebration!

Kicking off on July 20, 2020, and culminating with the installation of the new VFW National Commander on July 24, 2020, the #StillServing Celebration is a weeklong celebration showcasing stories of veterans who’ve remained committed to a life of service and especially those who’ve stepped up in the wake of COVID-19. We’re honored to highlight — in this brand-new virtual event — the many ways our nation’s veterans continue to serve their communities and make an impact after they leave the military. RSVP today so we can list your name in the welcome gallery and send you updates on the event. For more details on the virtual celebration, visit vfw.org/StillServingCelebration.

In the wake of COVID-19, the Veterans of Foreign Wars has announced its 121st VFW National Convention scheduled to be held in Reno, Nevada, this July has been officially cancelled. Read the full statement here.

The decision comes as public-health concerns and social-distancing mandates are expected to span into the summer months ahead. This year will mark the first in the organization’s storied 121-year history where a national convention will not be held. The VFW Auxiliary has also cancelled its convention.

We're disappointed to not be able to gather in Reno, but we look forward to seeing you in Baltimore, Maryland, July 31 - August 5, 2021.
