Veterans Health Issues

While the VFW is concerned about the health of all veterans, the organization focuses its resources on illnesses and disease that are service-connected and are unique to the military, such as health problems resulting from exposure to Agent Orange during the Vietnam War or service in the Persian Gulf. The number of diseases that the Department of Veterans Affairs has recognized as associated with Agent Orange or Persian Gulf Syndrome continues to expand and includes diabetes and prostate cancer to chronic fatigue syndrome and post-traumatic stress disorder.
