House Subcommittee Holds the Line on TRICARE Fees

Contact your members and take action!

The House Armed Services, Subcommittee on Military Personnel held a hearing today to discuss the Fiscal Year (FY) 2012 National Defense Authorization bill. A proposal in the DoD budget to raise TRICARE fee increases, which would be tied to a medical inflation index, for working age military retirees was debated as a part of the bill’s provisions.  Subcommittee Chairman, Joe Wilson (R- SC), and other committee members spoke out against the proposal and voted to ban any fee increases during FY 2012.  The full committee is scheduled to take up the bill next Wednesday, May 11 for more debate and another vote on the TRICARE fee provision.

Please take this time to contact your members of Congress and urge them to vote against any increase.  Attached is our letter to House Armed Services Committee Chairman, Howard “Buck” McKeon (R-CA), who has spoken in favor of some type of increase.
