The USMC has defended this country in every armed conflict since 1775
November 09, 2012
November 10, 2012 marks the 237th birthday of the
United States Marine Corps. The USMC’s legacy of defending this nation in every
armed conflict since 1775 bestows upon them a rich tradition and a sense of
honor that is felt at the core of every American who has worn the uniform of a
U.S. Marine.
Though war and conflict have evolved drastically over the past
237 years, the USMC has remained unwavering in its commitment to successfully
complete any mission with which they are tasked—and complete it with the utmost
honor and integrity.
Exemplified by their motto, Semper Fi, our Marines are
always faithful to this nation and its people, and ever vigilant and ready at a
moment’s notice. The values they embrace follow them on land, air and sea. And,
as a people, we are fortunate to have such valiant protectors.
The members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and its
Auxiliaries proudly salute you for your continued service, sacrifice and
dedication to country.
Happy birthday, Marines!
