VFW National Commander John Stroud met with President Obama in the Oval Office on March 3 to discuss the VFW’s top legislative priorities, which are to end sequestration; to ensure the Department of Veterans Affairs continues to provide quality and timely care and benefits to veterans and their survivors; to successfully implement the Veterans Choice Program so that the VA can identify and correct what’s broken, hold employees accountable, and restore the faith of veterans in their VA; and to fully support the newly formed Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency and its mission to recover and identify missing Americans from their wars. Stroud was in town for the annual VFW Legislative Conference, where he met with senior military leaders as well as testified before a joint hearing of the Senate and House Veterans Affairs Committees.
